France, the Haute-Normandie Region, the Département of Seine Maritime, the Rouen-Nomandie Métropole, the towns of Rouen, Déville, Maromme, St Etienne du Rouvray, Petit-Quevilly and Oissel obtained the organisation of the Handball World Schools Championship.

The Direction Nationale de l’Union Nationale du Sport Scolaire (U.N.S.S.) through the intermediary of the Service Régional UNSS of the Académie de Rouen wants this competition to be organized « for young people, by young people ».
Under the aegis of the ISF, the 2016 Handball World Championship is closely connected with:

  • the Kindarena, Rouen’s sports hall with its many functions
  • numerous and valuable sport facilities close to each other
  • the total support of the different local authorities, as well as the sport community
  • a local organizing committee accustomed to organizing national sport events
  • ideally located hotels
  • numerous restaurants and catering services
  • a network of modern public transport
  • a city: Rouen, and its many touristic assets
From March 11th to 19th 2016, the Haute-Normandie region, a land of handball, will host this major competition for French school sport.
